Moana Creek is a tidal estuary and as such, access to the property is influenced by the stages of the tide. For two hours either side of high tide you can land at the private wharf using either your own boat or coming in by shuttle/water taxi. At low tide, you will land at the shared all-tide pontoon.
The land is large (5766 square metres) bush covered and has riparian rights. (Your front boundary is high tide mark)
It runs from the sandy beach at the waters edge up to the ridge at the rear and has a good variety of native trees including Pohutakawa, Ponga, Kanuka, Rewerewa, Tairie and a number of others. There is a very pleasant flat area around the house.
The house was probably built in the 1970’s and is on two levels, with decks on both levels.
On the top level, there is open plan living and dining 2 double bedrooms, and, a fairly grotty kitchen.
On the lower level, there is a large rumpus area another double bedroom, a very basic 2nd kitchen, and a very basic 2nd bathroom with a rather amazing loo.
There is also a sizeable workshop.
The house is fully furnished, has basic appliances and is ready to occupy. There is also a small sailing catamaran included although there are no guarantees as to its condition.
This appeal of this property is not really about the house, its number of bedrooms or its colour scheme.
It is, having big old Pohutukawa tree with a swing out over the water for the kids. It is, being able to sit on your own jetty in the early morning and watching the Kingfishers and Grey Herons go about their business. It is sitting on the decks in the evenings and enjoying the seclusion and serenity of this beautiful island.
If these things appeal to you, give me a call and arrange a time to come over and have a look .
